I recently read a book called The Saturday Boy, It is about a boy called Derek who's father was called away to battle in Afghanistan. He gets pushed around by a bully called Budgie, and he loves cartoons. Derek writes back and forth to his dad and has a good father -son relationship. One day, however, Derek turns on the TV, which he is not allowed to, seeing a news channel that says his father's helicopter was shot down. His mom comes home, knees shaking, tears flowing, hearing the news that Derek's dad was shot down. In the end, they learn to cope with problems and live their life the way they were supposed to.

I recently read a book called Robinson Crusoe. Robinson Crusoe is a tobacco farmer who lives in Brazil. One day, when he was sailing in the Atlantic ocean, his ship was caught in a gale and shipwrecked on an island. All of his crew drowned. Luckily he was able to salvage something from the wreckage, for example some firearms, a barrel of gun powder, a dog, two cats, an axe, barley corn kernels etc. Then he explored the beach and found a cave suitable for living. He used the ax to chop trees into stakes, and put them around his new home (i.e. the cave). On the island, Robinson learned many useful skills: agriculture, pottery, baking, hunting, and carpentry. Here is where it got interesting. It turned out that he was not alone on the island. There were visitors that were natives from a nearby island, and cannibals on a different island. One day, the cannibals went to his island with several prisoner- the non-cannibal natives. One native escaped, and a few cannibal guards chased after him. Robinson came to the rescue. He shot the cannibals, and the native, which he named Friday, became his best friend. Later, a ship came, and they returned to Brazil.
In my opinion, Robinson Crusoe is a very good survival book, but the author could have made Robinson face more challenges in the learning how to survive process. I recommend the book to you and I hope you enjoy it.
P.S. you might want to view MY story. Here is the link:
